SKETCHES

These pieces are experimental pieces, which the artist calls “sketches,” though they may not only be drawing. The are created with immediacy and are responsive to an expressive view of site with the use of a variety of materials. In these works are moments of experience and observation while on location both at home and abroad. Within them are cultural references that have a sense of play and the awkwardness of the artist’s foreign origins. Within them are emotionally urgent marks mixed with studied consideration.
